CDRouter system requirements
Installation
The minimum recommended system requirements for CDRouter are listed below.
Note that CDRouter will install and run on most modern off-the-shelf PCs. CDRouter 5.0 and newer support both 32 and 64 bit hardware and operating systems. For information on the 32 and 64 bit versions of CDRouter, please see this Knowledge Base article. Releases prior to CDRouter 5.0 support only 32 bit systems.
Please note that QA Cafe also offers the NTA1000, a high-performance pre-configured test appliance designed and optimized specifically for use with CDRouter. For more information on the NTA1000, please visit our website or contact support@qacafe.com.
Hardware Requirements
- Linux PC with at least two Ethernet interfaces (three Ethernet interfaces is preferable)
- 2Gb of RAM
- Pentium 4 class or better CPU recommended (2GHz or faster recommended)
- 100M of free disk space (/usr/bin and /usr/share) for software installation; additional space will be required for storage of results and configuration files (100Gb or more recommended)
- Supported 802.11 wireless card* (only required for IEEE 802.11a, b, g, or n wireless LAN testing)
- Supported ATM interface card* for DSLAM configurations (only required for testing with ATM-based DSLAMs)
- Supported T1/E1 interface card* for T1/E1 configurations (only required for testing with T1/E1 based devices)

Software Requirements
- 32-bit or 64-bit Linux operating system** (NOTE: Support for 64-bit hardware and operating systems is only available in CDRouter 5.0 or newer)
- Tcl/Tk 8.4, or 8.5 (NOTE: Tcl/Tk 8.5 is required for 64-bit installations)
- Linux kernel 2.6.0 or greater (NOTE: Newer kernels may be required for specific features such as wireless support - please contact support@qacafe.com with any kernel specific questions)
