Is CDRouter TR-069 a replacement for interoperability testing?

General TR-069

CDRouter TR-069 is a functional test tool optimized for verification and analysis of TR-069 functionality within CPE devices. Successful completion of CDRouter's TR-069 test cases does not guarantee interoperability with ACS implementations from other vendors. However, testing with CDRouter TR-069 should increase confidence that the TR-069 functionality within a device under test is operating as expected, and reduce the possibility of unexpected behavior during interoperability testing and qualification with other ACS implementations.

As a functional test tool, CDRouter TR-069 complements interoperability testing by providing a number of additional benefits, such as:

  • A complete test environment for verification of TR-069 functionality within a system. CDRouter allows you to not only test the TR-069 protocol independently, but also as part of complete system. For example, with CDRouter you can create port mappings via TR-069 and verify that they are open or closed as expected by pushing real traffic through them. Another example is verifying TR-069 functionality when the WAN connection mode changes from PPPoE, to DHCP, to PPTP, etc.

  • A turn-key regression testing solution for TR-069. CDRouter's test environment allows you to quickly and consistently verify new versions of hardware and/or firmware against a standard set of tests.
