CDRouter IPv6

CDRouter IPv6 is an add-on module for CDRouter that provides test coverage for the most common IPv6 features found in today’s leading IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack CPE implementations.

CDRouter IPv6 incorporates all of the necessary WAN-side and LAN-side network elements required to simulate a complete IPv6 test environment within a single test platform. The suite of included IPv6 functional verification tests make it easy to thoroughly explore the IPv6 behavior of a device in a variety of diffenent environments and configurations. No additional equipment is needed! CDRouter IPv6 is the only test tool you need to verify your CPE device's IPv6 functionality.

When IPv6 is enabled, CDRouter will create one or more IPv6 clients on the LAN that support either RFC 3315 DHCPv6 or IPv6 stateless address autoconfiguration, as defined in RFC 4862. CDRouter IPv6 also supports the most common IPv6 WAN connection modes, including:

• Static IPv6
• DHCPv6, optionally with prefix delegation
• PPPoE, optionally with prefix delegation
• Stateless address autoconfiguration, optionally with prefix delegation
• 6to4 tunneling
• 6rd tunneling

Test Setup for DHCPv6 on the WAN

When DHCPv6 or prefix delegation are enabled, CDRouter will automatically create a DHCPv6 server on the WAN. The DHCPv6 server will provide a non-temporary address, address prefix, and DNS information to the CPE's DHCPv6 client on the WAN as needed.

Test Setup for 6to4 and 6rd on the WAN

When 6to4 or 6rd are enabled, CDRouter will create a 6to4 or 6rd relay server on the WAN. The relay server will automatically process all IPv6 over IPv4 tunneled packets and provide full IPv6 connectivity for clients on the LAN side of the CPE.

Test Coverage

CDRouter IPv6 includes a number of built-in test modules that provide test coverage for a wide range of key IPv6 functional areas. The included IPv6 test modules can be run either individually or as part of a larger test run which includes other CDRouter, CDRouter Multiport, CDRouter IKE, or CDRouter TR-069 test modules.

The test modules shipped with CDRouter IPv6 include:

CDRouter IPv6 can be used to quickly and efficiently identify common problems and implementation issues. In addition, CDRouter IPv6 provides a great foundation for a consistent and fully automated IPv6 regression test environment.
